Preet Vihar is an important residential as well as commercial complex in East Delhi. Situated on Vikas Marg, Preet Vihar is located at a driving distance of approximately one hour from the Nizammuddin Railway Station and about half an hour from the Anand Vihar ISBT. It has a number of educational institutions and houses.
Some of the most revered educational centers in the area are Career Launcher, NIIT, Aptech, Ftech. It is also known for its language institutes and coaching centers, which promise of academic excellence.

Best for shopping, this area also houses some of the biggest stores and plazas that display branded accessories and designer wear. Preet Vihar is further divided into three different regions- Laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur and Anand Vihar. There are numerous Preet Vihar residential societies and co-operatives, providing suitable accommodation to the visitors, which could be hired on rent.

There are a total of seven blocks in Preet Vihar organized systematically from A to G, out of which the G block is the largest with a total of 370 houses. Preet Vihar is easily recognized by the landmarks with which it is surrounded. Some of the important Preet Vihar landmarks are Karkardooma District Court, Scope Tower, Gufa Wala Mandir or Temple, Park End Masjid, Poorva Sanskrti Kendra and V3S Mall. Some of best hang out places in the area are Mc Donalds, Nirula's, Sagar Ratna, Domino's Pizza,Saffron Court and Bikanerwala.
