Margao - Anjuna Beach is one of the frequently conducted tours from Margao. The beach is reputed for the parties that are held in the premises of the beach. The region shot to fame in the early 70s and 80s when the hippies thronged the region. On the full moon night, the region enlivens itself with the wild parties.
The tourists may visit the Albuquerque Mansion while residing near the Anjuna Beach. The ancient structure was established in the year 1920. Some of the other tourists attractions of the region are the Chapora Fort and the Mascarenhas Mansion. The Mascarenhas Mansion is embellished with floral motifs in stained glass. The extended balcoes of the monumental structure reveal the rich craftsmanship of the artisans who built the mansion.
The night long parties held at Anjuna Beach, known as the Acid House Party are also one of the primary attractions of the region. Trance music and dance are the chief features of the parties.
Wednesday flea market of Anjuna Beach is also reputed through the state. The local market breaks at 11 A.M in the morning. The tourists may gather collectibles from the market at a good bargain.
Accommodation is provided to the tourists in the small cottages that lie close to the village. The restaurants of the region prepare some of the most delectable delicacies of the the region. Sea food is a specialty of the region.
The beach is reputed as the Freak Capital of the world and lures international and national tourists in large numbers from distant places.
