The Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu is located between 10 - 38 and 11- 49 North Latitude and between 76.0 and 77.15 East Longitude. The district covers an area of 2452.50 sq. km. According to 2001 census, the total population of Nilgiris district is 7,10,214 including 3,58,129 men and 3,52,088 women.
