Best Season to Visit Goa

Goa can be visited any time of the year you choose to visit it. But the best season to visit Goa is between September and March – the peak periods being between December and February. The tourist season in Goa begins in late September and carries on through early March because the weather in these months is compatibly cool and dry.

Even though the monsoons are considered a dampener, the combination of rain with sun, sand and sea, contrary to what some people think, can actually be exquisite. The monsoons wash clean the state of Goa with fresh rains. The cool rains come as a reprieve after the hot summer. Once the rains have hit Goa, it becomes a time for a different kind of party altogether. With the cool breeze caressing you, raindrops splashing your face, swaying palms beckoning you seductively and the dark sea inviting you to enjoy, the charms of Goa could be hard to resist. So if you chose to go to Goa during the monsoons you will have an experience with a difference. However, you will miss out on one thing – swimming is strictly not permitted during the monsoons.

If the monsoons are not your season, then you can give the winters a try. It is the next best season to visit Goa. This season falls between November and mid February. During this time, Goa remains quite pleasant, so you will be able to enjoy the sun-soaked beaches. Another reason why winter could be the best season to visit Goa is because you can join in the Carnival which is celebrated in February.
