Car and Motorcycle Transport in Goa


Being a tourist destination, Goa is well connected by both the state transport system and also other privately owned transport facilities. Cycles and Motorcycle transport in Goa is easily available on rent on daily basis throughout Goa. These are not only cheap but are also an extremely flexible and convenient way to explore every nook and corner of the state.

One unique feature is the motorcycle taxi. They are very convenient because of their ability to go into interior places where other big vehicles may not be able to go. The motorcycle taxis are distinguished by their yellow mudguards and white number plate. So as far as two-wheelers are concerned, you can either hire a two-wheeler and drive it on your own, or you can just have a joyride sitting on the pillion of a motorcycle taxi. Charges accordingly vary.

The four-Wheeler variety comes in an array of types and budgets. To begin with, coaches and taxis are readily available. Luxury, semi-luxury coaches and tourist taxis can be hired from:

Given below are some Tariff Rules that are to be kept in mind while hiring car and motorcycle transport in Goa:
  • Minimum charges are for 100 kms per day.
  • Taxes of other States, Toll Tax, Parking Fees, Ferry charges, etc. if payable by GTDC will be charged extra.
  • Night Halt - 8.00 PM to 8.00 A.M.
  • If vehicle is hired or retained before 8.00 AM and after 8 PM, night halt charges will be applicable
  • Charges vary from garage to garage.
  • Detention is charged after 8 hours duty.
  • Tourist taxis or yellow-top taxis are also available from private operators throughout Goa and charged on Kilometer-basis or Point-to-Point fare fixed by the Directorate of Transport. Fare chart is available with the driver.
