The nearest railhead is Jhansi, which is also a key junction in central India. Several trains link connect Jhansi to the rest of the country.

Shopping in Orchha

Although Orchha is not a hip destination where you can shop till you drop. So typical touristy shopping in Orchha may not turn out to be a fulfilling experience.

As such, Orchha does not have any local specialty, which has attained perfection over the ages by the ace craftsmen. But for the passionate shopper Orchha offers metal artifacts, which is one of the traditional craft in Madhya Pradesh.

Bastar region although now is in Chhattisgarh, was once a part of Madhya Pradesh. The land has already earned a worldwide name for its exquisite artifacts. The crafts of Bastar often find their way into Orchha.

Dokra metal crafts and artifacts made of wrought iron are popular items for shopping in Orchha. These make for wonderful showpiece, souvenirs, gift or utility items. Do not forget to pick up a piece or two while shopping in Orchha.
