The city of Mangaldoi is situated in north east of India in the state of Assam. The Mangaldoi Parliamentary Constituency is situated in the Darrang district. The city was named after the King of Darrang’s daughter, Mangaldahi. The Mangaldoi Parliamentary Constituency is also a municipal board in the district.
The population of Mangaldoi is around 23,854 according to the 2001 India census. The population comprises 48 percent females and 52 percent males.
