According to the 2011 Census, the total population of Meghalaya is 2,964,007. Previously, the total population was 2,318,822 in the 2001 Census.
The male population is 1,492,668 and the female population is 1,471,339 from the entire population of Meghalaya. In figures, the total literates in Meghalaya are 1,817,761 out of which the males are 934,091 and females are 883,670 respectively.
