Abhishek Bachchan

The latest Bollywood heartthrob, Abhishek Bachchan seems to be making all the right moves in the recent days. Son of the living legend of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bhaduri, Abhishek was born on February 5, 1976 in Mumbai. Abhishek completed his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and the Modern School in New Delhi, before moving to the United States to complete his education. He returned to India before he completed his business degree at the Boston University.

Abhishek made his film debut with J.P.Dutta's Refugee in 2000. The film, however, did not do well. Thereafter, he acted in a series of movies, but without much success. This led many people to wonder about his acting prowess. It was his performance in Mani Ratnam's Yuva in 2004 that earned him rave reviews besides the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. There was no stopping him after that. He then went on to give hits like Dhoom, Bunty Aur Babli and Sarkar. Besides, he has acted in movies like Dus, Bluffmaster, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Umrao Jaan and Dhoom-2. The song "Kajra Re" from the movie Bunty Aur Babli in which Abhishek performed became one of the most popular songs of 2005. His first release in 2007, Guru directed by the renowned Mani Ratnam turned out to be a hit.

He has been hogging the media limelight after his engagement to Aishwarya Rai, whom he will be marrying soon. Abhishek was earlier engaged to be married with Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor in 2002, but the engagement broke down in 2002. He has won many awards in his movie career. Some of the major ones include the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 2004, the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 2005 and the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 2007, besides many other awards.
