The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was established by the Government of Delhi in 1998. It has been awarded with an 'A' grade and is recognized by the UGC India. This is a very prestigious University that aims to promote studies, research and work towards providing students quality
education and have a bright future. The University provides education in various disciplines like architecture, pharmacy, engineering, technology, medicine, nursing, law, mass communication, management, physiotherapy, journalism etc. Various prestigious degrees are granted by the University like MBA, LLB, BBA, B.tech, M.tech, MCA, LLM, MBBS, PH.D etc. however all the admissions to any of the degree programs are carried out by a common entrance test.

Entrance exams

For candidates who want to gain admission to various undergraduate and post graduate programs are required to appear for a CET or the IP University entrance exams that will be held by the University. The courses that have entrance exams are in education, computer applications, Hotel management, Business administration, arts and humanities, sciences, Public health, Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, Journalism and Mass communication, engineering, Professional, Medical, Postgraduate medical degree and MBA.

Important dates

Master of computer applications entrance exam on 12th may 2012, Mater of Physiotherapy, mass communication, occupational therapy, public health, environment management, prosthetics and orthotics and master of laws will be held on 13th may 2012. The Bachelor of science in Nursing, master of business administration, Master of science in criminology, master of education, Bachelor of computer applications, master in Forensic science, will be held on 19th May 2012. Entrance exam for BBA on 26th Mat 2012, Bachelor of journalism on 27th May 2012, Hotel management on 3rd June 2012 will be held at the University.

The exam fees will be Rs. 1,000 for the forms and the application. Candidates can get the forms from the University or from the banks.

Eligibility criteria for CET

Candidates applying for the undergraduate course should be 12th passed form a reputed university with 50% marks. The age should not be more than 21 years. For the post graduation degree, the age should not be more than 35 years.

The entrance exams for engineering, MBBS, Post Graduate medical degree or diploma courses, MBA etc have different rules and regulations. Therefore it highly advised to check with the various departments regarding the course and its details.
