The Delhi Metro has changed the lives of the citizens of Delhi in a major way and has made traveling very convenient. With new routes on Delhi metro being introduced and addition of stations to the already existing lines, Delhi Metro has entered into a new phase of expansion and development. It could not get better than this for the Delhiites. But there is a twist. The more network of Delhi metro will enlarge, the more are chances of it becoming difficult for common man, to find its way through several lines, changing at several stations and most importantly calculating whether it will be profitable for him to travel by metro or not, when compared to a bus, auto or car.

Delhi Metro Fare Calculator is designed to help you solve this problem and make it possible for you to calculate the fare between any two stations on any line of Delhi Metro at your own. Just type mapsofindia at your browser and the tool will be there at your disposal. All you need to do is select the "Source Station" from the drop down list. Next, you select the "Destination Station" from among the 136 stations that feature in the list. Go to "Get Fare" button and before you can bat an eyelid, you will have at your screen the amount that you will be required to spend to travel between the places that you chose.

This tool can be a help to all those who desire to find any information relating to the fares on Delhi Metro. It can be of a special interest to daily commuters on the metro and the best thing is that the software is absolutely free of cost to use.

Extra Savings for Regular Passengers

Delhi Metro smart cards can be used by passengers who have a regular travel schedule. Fare discounts are also typically applied to smart card holders, and thus, the ride on the metro becomes even cheaper than buying tokens on a regular basis.

Furthermore, the metro also offers some discounts at off-peak times in a bid to promote balanced traffic. These are small savings that can be felt by the office worker and students who use the metro every day.

Smart Commuting Factors

Besides the base fare, there are a few other important aspects that commuters need to take into consideration that may influence the overall price and comfort of travelling:
  1. Smart Card Benefits - Smart card passengers enjoy up to 10 per cent fare discounts. This renders travelling by metro cheaper than using tokens, particularly for the daily commuters.

  2. Peak and Non-Peak Hours - In some cases, Delhi Metro provides off-peak offers, which are more appealing for travel during the times when the subway is not congested. This will further save on the cost of travelling.

  3. Airport Express Line Fare - The Airport Express Line has an alternate fare system, higher than other metro lines, since it offers premium services and faster connectivity.

  4. Interchange Stations - As the expansion continues, interchange stations such as Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate and Hauz Khas have become key centers. Although they enhance connection, they might also cause new users to take more time and complexity to use them.

  5. Mobile Apps & Digital Tools - Besides Mapsofindia, commuters are also able to calculate the fare in real-time, plan routes, and estimate the time spent on the journey using the official DMRC app or Google Maps.

  6. Expansion of Network - The Delhi Metro has become one of the biggest metro systems in India and is now spread not only to the NCR areas such as Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, but also to the entire city of Delhi. This growth makes it more accessible and also more significant when it comes to route planning.
