The metro stations of Central Secretariat Metro Station and Kashmere Gate Metro Station are connected through the Violet Line as well as Yellow Line. Earlier the commuters had to travel on the Yellow Line to reach Central Secretariat but since May 2017 the commuters can reach Central Secretariat through Violet Line that has reached Kashmere Gate Metro Station. Earlier, the Violet Line was limited to Central Secretariat Metro Station, after further extension it reached Mandi House in June 2014, connecting it with the blue line. The Mandi House Metro Station and Kashmere Gate joined each other after the completion of Heritage Line, it includes metro stations at Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate, and Lal Quila. The Heritage Line allows travelers to explore the historical monuments in Old Delhi through metro route.
