This is a type of academic course that helps one in becoming a teacher. Teaching is said to be an art, which can be gained by a series of activities. It is preferable to score at least 50 % marks in the 10 + 2 level of study. One, who aspires to build his or her career in the field of teaching, can pursue this course after completing graduation level of education as well. Usually, it is a full time course with the duration of 2 years. Depending on the nature of the course offered by a teacher training institution, the duration can vary from one institute to another as well.

Major Basic Teacher Training Examinations in India

Post fulfilling the basic criteria, the aspirants need to appear in the entrance examinations conducted by the respective institute, where a candidate intends to enroll him or herself to gain a certificate on basic teacher training. Generally, conducted in the month of May or June, such entrance examinations are objective in nature. This type of a test judge's one in subjects like English, basic mathematics, aptitude, general knowledge, along with one regional language.
