Industrial Design Courses

It is the usage of a combined form of applied science and applied art, which improves the ergonomics, usability as well as aesthetics of a product. This is even used for improving the marketability and production of different products. The main task of an industrial design professional or industrial designer includes creation and execution of varied design solutions that are used for the various problems related to form, usability, marketing, physical ergonomics, sales and brand development. There comes the importance of industrial design courses, which are being widely pursued by students residing in different parts of the world.

Current Scenario of Industrial Design in India

The continuous and fast change in the field of technology and designing has necessitated the need of more skilled and talented industrial designers. This country is not far behind in terms of industrial designing as well. This in turn, has resulted in the emergence of many courses, which are solely designed to serve this purpose. The various industrial designing courses offered by the Indian institutions help an aspirant to gain detailed knowledge about the same. The courses range from diploma to degree level of studies. To pursue a Bachelor's degree of education in this field, one needs to have first completed the 10 + 2 level of study in the discipline of science whereas, the basic eligibility criteria for the diploma courses or the post graduate courses necessitates one to have graduated from the same field of education.

Major Industrial Design Examinations in India

A candidate, who wants to enroll his or her name in any of the above mentioned courses, he or she needs to clear the admission tests conducted by the different colleges and institutions of industrial designing of the nation. The most important among them is called C.E.E.D. or Common Entrance Examination for Design. This is conducted at the national level in different parts of the Republic of India. Apart from this, the other famous entrance examination of industrial designing courses is conducted by the N.I.D. or the National Institute of Design. The different branches of the Indian Institute of Technology or I.I.T. even conduct industrial designing entrance examinations every year for the enrollment of students in their courses. This examination is popularly known as I.I.T.J.E.E. or Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination.
