Rajiv Gandhi (Awarded Bharat in 1991)
Rajiv Gandhi was born on 20 August 1944 in Mumbai. He was such a prime minister who did not saw the freedom struggle in which other members of his family were involved. Nana Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was on his 9th and final prison visit at the time of his birth. His mother Indira Gandhi himself was released from jail only 15 months ago and father Feroze Gandhi was released from jail only a year ago. He was the Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989. Sworn in at the age of 40, he was the youngest Prime Minister of India.
