Commonwealth Closing Ceremony in New Delhi, India would be the event to watch. According to the closing ceremonies held in other host countries, it can be concluded that a similar set of events would adorn the Closing Ceremony of Commonwealth Games 2010.

Generally, the last bit of the closing ceremony includes celebrities from the film fraternity. There are dance performances by Bollywood as well as Hollywood actors and actresses. Like in Melbourne, 2006, the concluding ceremony had lively performances by Rani Mukherjee, Aishwarya Rai and Saif Ali Khan. The program was followed by a short promotional video of the next Commonwealth Games, scheduled to be held in Delhi, India in 2010.

The mascot, Sheru-the Friendly Tiger, of the Commonwealth 2010 Games, paraded the stage and also waved at the cheerful audience. He was accompanied by Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta. There was a theme song, which invited people to the next 2010 Commonwealth Games in India. Moreover, the David Dixon Award was presented to Samresh Jung for the Fairest and the Best Indian Team Shooter.

Besides, there was a wonderful display of fireworks and lightning at the end of the 2-week Australian Commonwealth Games. Even the flags of the Commonwealth nations were paraded during the closing ceremony. Finally, Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward concluded the Ceremony.

The Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony included a breathtaking presentation of 1700 lanterns displaying the message ‘Seek Peace’. It also included the parade of the Commonwealth countries along with children exhibiting the giant portrait of the Queen, which was indeed a Golden Jubilee Gift.

During the 2002 Commonwealth Closing Ceremony, the Commonwealth Games Ceremonial Flag was handed to Melbourne, which was the next host city. Moreover, other celebrities also performed there.

Considering the general line of closing ceremony that take place during Commonwealth Games, it is presumed that the Commonwealth Closing Ceremony protocol in India would also consist of a small presentation on the next Game, display of lightning and fireworks, presence and dance of celebrities and Commonwealth nation’s flag parade.
