Sukh Mahal


Sukh Mahal is a palace located in Bundi, Rajasthan . The palace is famous for its association with the novelist Rudyard Kipling. It is located in the middle of Sukh Sagar Lake.

Architectural Details

Entrance to the Sukh Mahal is through splendid doors decorated with sandal wood and ivory. The rooms are cooled by water through perforations made in the walls. It is believed that an underground tunnel connects the Sukh Mahal to the palace.

The interiors of Sukh Mahal in Bundi form a testament to Rajput architecture. The walls are adorned with beautiful Bundi wall paintings. Sukh Mahal is presently used as a government guest house.
