The cost outlay for this Noida Metro project was of Rs. 736 crore, out of which the capital cost of the network of Rs. 611 crore and the cost of land of Rs. 93 crore were bore by the Uttar Pradesh government and the cost of the rolling stock of Rs. 93 crore was bore by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). On the very first day after its opening, DMRC earned Rs. 1.64 crore from 9.5 lakh travellers.
Noida - Greater Noida Route
There is a proposal to extend the Blue Line to Greater Noida. The proposed route will be a stretch of 29.707 km and the estimated cost is Rs. 5,533 crore. The DMRC has already prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR). As per the DPR, 22 stations are proposed on this route, out of which 13 will be built on ground, while the remaining seven will be elevated. Two stations at Knowledge Park-I and Sector Delta-1 in Greater Noida are planned for future expansion. Noida City Centre in Sector 32 will be connected to Greater Noida through the following metro stations:

- Noida Sector 101
- Noida Sector 81
- Noida Sector 83
- Noida Sector 85
- Noida Sector 137
- Noida Sector 142
- Noida Sector 143
- Noida Sector 144

Then it will enter Greater Noida through Knowledge Park-II. It will traverse Pari Chowk and reach Sectors - Alpha 1 and Alpha 2. Then it will terminate at the Depot station proposed near recreational green, Knowledge Park-IV in Greater Noida.
Noida City Centre - Noida Sector 62 Route
There will also be a 6.675-km link from Noida City Centre to Sector 62, which is estimated to cost Rs 1,880 crore. As per the DPR, six stations are proposed on this route. The route is expected to be completed in 36 months after the construction begins. Noida City Centre of Sector 32 will be connected to Noida Sector 62 through the following metro stations:
- Noida Sector 34
- Noida Sector 52
- Noida Sector 59
- Noida Sector 61
- Noida Sector 62
- Electronic City at NH-24
For the development, operation and maintenance of the metro, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) will be formed. The work for the metro is expected to begin from 2017.
