The Iskcon Mysore is a Temple, that is a part of the Iskcon temple chain, that has been built all around the world In Mysore, the Iskcon Temple is situated at Jayanagar. Iskcon Temple; as it is well known; is the International Society for Krishna Consciousness; a spiritual organization that has the stems spread out all around the world.
The major aim of the Iskcon Society is to spread the holy message of the Bhagavat Gita, which is the Holy Book of Hindu. Iskcon Temple in Mysore also aims to aware the people about Krishna consciousness. It propagates Lord Krishna's message given out to the mankind. Thus Iskcon Temples are not only temples but these are 'ashramas' where a lot of social service are carried out for the wellbeing of the mankind and especially poor people.
The Akshaya Patra in Mysore was established on 16th of August, 2004, which would feed over 300 children in a school. With the passing of days, it has grown bigger and better and at present it serves food to 3000 children everyday.
Initially established in New York, the Iskcon Temple was founded by Swami Prabhupada.
