Puri Beach Resorts

Puri is one of the four major holy places in India and probably one of the finest beaches in India. It is situated in Orissa on the shores of the breathtakingly beautiful Bay of Bengal. One may take a holy dip or swim in this beautiful beach of Puri. Both water lovers and pilgrims alike crowd the pleasant and pious Puri.

A perfect fusion of the craft, cuisines and culture of Orissa is what attracts the tourists to Puri. The sunset and sunrise on this beach is enchanting. The local fishermen, with their catamarans and wide brimmed cane hats act as lifeguards and also provide tourists a ride on their boat.

The spectacular Jagannath temple, one of the holiest temples in the country is located very closely to the beach. It is famous for its Rath Yatra. While in Puri, one can also shop at the Bada Danda and buy traditional items of Puri as gifts and souvenirs.

The lively Puri beach attracts thousands of tourists throughout the year. But it receives maximum tourists during the annual Puri Beach Festival that is held in early November.

There are also many state of the art hotels and beach resorts in Puri to cater to the accommodation needs of the visitors.
