Udaipur (185km) is the nearest airport while Mount Abu railway station is about 28 km from the city. Regular trains connect Mount Abu with cities such as Ahmadabad and Jaipur. Taxis, jeeps and excellent bus services connect the mountainous town with the rest of the state and cities in Gujarat.
The major festivals celebrated in the city of Mount Abu are the Summer Festival in June, Gangaur in March- April and Patotasav in March. The Summer Festival is a major attraction of the town. The days are spent in enthralling folk art performances such as Ghoomar, Gair, Dhap etc. In the evenings excellent Quawali performances are organized. Quawalis are impassioned music recitals, sometimes satiric but generally loved by the common man. Boat races and roller skating competitions are also held. A brilliant firework display concludes this enrapturing festive event.
