University of Agriculture and Technology Udaipur

The University of Agriculture and Technology Udaipur is a major academic institution founded by the Government of Rajasthan on 1st November, 1999. It was bifurcated from the Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner and named as the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology. It mainly serves students from south and south eastern parts of the state, focusing on identifying, developing and implementing new technologies for agricultural development and production. This state university is a member of the AIU or the Association of Indian Universities.
    The university has certain objectives, which they follows:
  • Teaching and training in different sectors of agriculture and related fields like agriculture, veterinary science, horticulture, forestry etc.
  • Research and development of new technologies for agricultural production and improvement of income and livelihood.
  • Providing technical assistance to the related industries.
  • Providing a touch of International standards to research and education.
  • Other related purposes.

The University is situated in the white city of Udaipur and have a sprawling campus. Numerous students studying in different subjects and courses are an integral part of the University. Different long term and short term courses are offered here. Some of them are given below:
  • M.Sc Nutrition and Dietetics
  • B.Sc Home Science
  • P.G Diploma in Home Science
  • M.Sc Food and Nutrition

Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology offers top class facilities like central library, central instrumentation laboratory, campus interviews, Internet facilities, sports and cultural activities to the students and faculties. The university has different departments under four major streams. They are:- Agriculture, Dairy and Food Technology, Engineering and Home Science.
