About Hyderabad Zoo

Also referred to as the Nehru Zoological Park, the Hyderabad zoo was founded in the year 1959. However, the public access was allowed only in the year 1963. The park covers 380 acres of land and is a perfect amusement destination in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The park abounds in large variety of herbivores, carnivores, reptiles, primates, rodents and birds. Hyderabad Zoo Route Map, Hyderabad Zoo Map Details

The zoo is situated adjacent to the Mir Alam Tank towards the south-west part of the city. You can reach here by taking a route to Lower Tank Bund. From here, you can move to Telugu Talli Flyover, LB Stadium Road and then to King Koti Road to arrive at J.Nehru Road. This will connect you to NH 7, from where you can reach Mukhram Jahi Road and subsequently High Court Road. You need to continue your drive till you reach Purana Pool Road. This is the final point to come to the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.

As per the bus route to Hyderabad Zoo is concerned, services can be availed from Lakdi Ka pool or Koti. Besides, Imliban Bus Stand is located at a distance of about 4.7 km from the zoo and Jubilee Bus Stand is around 11.4 km from here.

However, if you are coming directly from Purana Pul following national highway, the zoo can be spotted on the right side at a distance of around 1 kilometer.

Visiting Hours of the Hyderabad Zoo

Along with keeping Hyderabad Zoo Map handy, it is also important to know about the visiting hours of the zoo. The park remains open from Tuesday to Sunday. It is closed on every Monday. The park entry is allowed from 8.00 AM to 5.30 PM in the months spanning from April to June and from 8.30 AM to 5.00 PM between the months of July and March.
