Kota Municipal Corporation



Kota Municipal Corporation is one of the prominent administrative bodies of the region that operates under the strict supervision of the state government of Rajasthan for the general welfare of the common people. Being the fifth largest city of the state, Kota has a well oragnized and systematic body of Municipal Corporation comprising of elected and nominated members which is headed by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. O. P. Sharma.

The Municipal Corporation of the city of Kota takes into cognizance the various developmental aspects and supervises the several administrative sectors of the place. Supported by sixty members who are directly elected by the adult franchise, the Corporates represent the respective wards within the city. For administrative convinience, Kota has been divided into 60 prominent wards that have one elected representative in the Municipal Corporation.

Choosen by the local population for a tenure of 5 years, the ward members or corporates are expected to perform their duties with complete perfection. Some of the notable functions of Kota Municipal Corporation are:
  • Mainatining and Constructing good roads for better communication
  • Adequate Water Suplly
  • Twenty Four Hours Electricity Supply
  • Maintaining proper Drainage and Sewage System
  • Construction of Recreational Parks for beautification of the city
  • Building of Public Toilets
The Kota Municipal Corporation earns its revenue from the taxes offered by the population of the city. The Municipal Corporation organizes several fairs and cultural activities for the entetainment of the city. The ward member of the Municipal Corporation of Kota perform their function with complete transparency.
