Books in Kolkata form an integral part of the life in Kolkata. Kolkatans are ardent fans of books - be it fiction, fairy tales, short stories, novels, poetry, prose, novella, epistolary pieces, autobiography, et al.

The love for books is so strong in Kolkata that we find a colony of book-stores in Kolkata. This colony is known as College Street, where books of all types and genres are available.
