Maharaja Sayajirao University Baroda

Maharaja Sayajirao University Baroda has been named after Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. He was a ruler who was a patron of art, culture and education. He established this university in the view that it would provide education to millions of aspiring candidates. Maharaja Sayajirao University Baroda is one of the oldest universities in Vadodara. It is known to be the largest university in the city. Maharaja Sayajirao University is also known as M.S. University. It is one of the most reputed institutions of the city, which is well-known for its fine arts, technology and engineering and Science faculty. This college was initially known as the Baroda College of Science, which was founded in the year 1881. Later on it got converted into a university. This educational institution is the sole university in Gujarat where the medium of instruction is English.
