Known as the 'Silk City, Berhampur is a part of the Orissa state. It is situated near the coast and lies in the Ganjam District of Orissa.

As per the census of 2001, Berhampur Parliamentary Constituency has a population of 307, 724. Out of this, males constitute almost 52%, while the remaining 48% are females.

Former Prime Minister, Mr. P.V Narasimha Rao, had won from the Behrampur Parliamentary Constituency in the year 1996.
