DAV International School, Amritsar

Amritsar, the holiest city of the Sikhs, has constantly been a precursor in the field of education. It has been the melting pot of cultural intermingling and has given excellent opportunities for the development of education of all sorts.

DAV stands for Dayanand Anglo Vedic (school). The DAV International School in Amritsar is managed by the DAV College Trust and Management Society. It was founded in Lahore in the year 1885. The DAV schools adhere to the philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, one of the greatest men of the pre independence era, who established the Arya Samaj.

The school boasts of an excellent infrastructure. It has a fully computerized, well stocked library. It has a Audio-Video room which caters to all categories of students and teachers alike. There are several integrated audio-visual aids for helping the students learn or for helping the faculty set up the curricula. The school has also induced 'Bharatiyavidya', a multimedia teaching-aid for the students. It also has a program called 'Kiducation', designed for the cognitive development of the brain of youngsters (nursery group). The school also has a multimedia theatre, a science lab, an arts room etc. In short, its infrastructure facilities are excellent.

DAV International School also caters to the all round education of the students. There are regular 'Health Services', sports grounds, skating rinks etc. There are also places where rituals take place in Vedic style, for the benefit of the students.
