47. Sunil Bharti Mittal
Founder-chairman and group CEO of Bharti Enterprises is the sultan of nation’s telecom revolution. Sunil Bharti’s company Bharti Airtel is one of the most prominent and largest companies in the world of telecom. It has set its operations in 16 countries all across Asia and Africa. Currently, the company is having a customer base of around 390 million. As per Forbes 2019, Sunil Mittal ranks 244 in billionaires list, and he was ranked 17 among the richest persons of India in 2018. Being a philanthropist, he is also working towards educating India. Interestingly, he has established Bharti foundation, which is currently running a flagship programme, under which 254 schools are progressing in 6 states. These schools are serving approximately 45,000 rural children. The students are taught here free of cost. In 2017, Sunil Mittal and his family took a pledge to donate 10% of their total wealth for noble cause of imparting education in India.
