52. Yogi Adityanath
He is an Indian politician. He is also the head priest or Mahant of the Hindu temples of Gorakhpur. He took control over that seat after the death of his father Mahant Avaidyanath. Moreover, he is a founder of Hindu Yuva Vahini, which is a well-known youth organisation. He is from the BJP party and very close to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At present, he is serving as the Chief Minister of the state of Uttar Pradesh since March 19, 2017, after winning a big majority in the last assembly elections in that state. After taking charge as the Chief Minister of UP, Yogi took various administrative steps in the state, including shutdown of illegal slaughterhouses, an absolute ban on cow smuggling, prohibition on the consumption of tobacco, gutka and pan. Interestingly, during oath-taking he asked officials to devote 100 hours each year in order to accomplish the agenda set by the Swachh Bharat Mission. Other than this, he himself handles the records of many ministries, such as Revenue, Food and Civil Supplies, Flood Control, Information, Planning and so on, so that he can put an end to corruption.
