
Shah Rukh Khan was born on November 2, 1965 and raised in New Delhi. His did his education from
Delhi earning an honours degree in Economics and pursued a Masters Degree in Mass Communications, which he did not complete.
He shot to fame with his role in the TV serial Fauji in 1988, following it up with a role in the TV serial Circus. Shahrukh moved to
Mumbai from Delhi and became a household name with the hit Bollywood movie Deewana in 1992.
There was no looking back ever since and he has delivered a string of hits including movies like Baazigar, Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil to Pagal Hai , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zaara Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and many others.
He has ventured into film production also. Besides, he has also done playback singing for a number of his movies. Currently, he is hosting the popular TV show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, taking over from Amitabh Bachchan, who was the original host.
He has won a host of awards in his distinguished career, including six Filmfare Best Actor awards. Apart from the Filmfare Awards, he has won other awards like the Rupa Cinegoers Award, Star Screen Videocon Award, Sansui Viewers Choice Movie Award etc. In 2005, he has honoured with the Padma Shri Award by the Government of India.
Though he has mainly enacted romantic roles, he has also played the role of an anti-hero to perfection in films like Baazigar, Darr, Anjaam, Duplicate and Don - The Chase Begins Again
