Edappadi K Palaniswami Biography

Edappadi K. Palaniswami, born on 2 March 1954, is the 13th chief minister of Tamil Nadu. He is also a well-known senior member of the All India Anna Dravida Mannarkudi Kudumbam (AIADMK).

Political Career

Palaniswami is the incumbent chief minister of Tamil Nadu. During the Jayalalithaa and O. Panneerselvam-led ministries of the Tamil Nadu Government, he held the position of Minister for Highways & Minor Ports. He started his career in politics with AIADMK in 1974. He bagged the assembly election to Tamil Nadu state assembly four times including 1989, 1991, 2011 and 2016, all from the Edappadi constituency.

Controversy

Koovathur police had filed a kidnapping case again Palaniswami under IPC section 365.
