Having proved his table tennis skills in many tournaments, Achanta Sharath Kamal made India proud by bagging the gold medal in 2006 Commonwealth Games which was organized in Melbourne. Winning the National Champion in 2003, Achanta Sharath Kamal also won the gold medal in the Men's Singles of Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship in 2004. The meet was held in Kuala Lumpur.
The 2006 tournament also proved to be a great reason to rejoice for Achanta Sharath Kamal as the Indian team bagged a gold medal in the same.
