Dr Devi Shetty: He is perhaps one of the most successful cardiac surgeons from India who has achieved some truly remarkable feats. Apart from being a proficient cardiac surgeon, he is also known to perform a few philanthropic acts as well. He had established hospitals like Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Manipal Heart Foundation. He had also taken certain steps so that the cost of heart surgeries could be reduced to a minimum. He was also the first Indian surgeon to perform the neo-natal heart surgery.

Sunil Shetty: He is one of the most loved and famous actors of The Mumbai Film Industry, Bollywood. He has a very good physique and was born in Mulki near Mangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. Some of his most famous films are Mohra, Shashtra, Rakshak, Krishna, Border, Hera Pheri, Refugee, Kaante, Dharkan, Awara Paagal Deewana and Phir Hera Pheri.

Aishwarya Rai: She is a stunningly beautiful actress, hailing from Mangalore who had won the 1994 Miss World Pageant at Sun City. She made her debut in Mani Ratnam's Iruvar in 1997. But she earned critical as well as commercial success with Hum Dil Chuke Sanam, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 1999. She has recently married Abhiskek Bachchan who is also a very famous actor from Bollywood.

Shilpa Shetty: She was born on 8th June, 1975 in Mangalore. Ever since her debut in the Shah Rukh Khan movie Baazigar in 1998, she has ruled the hearts of millions with her stunning looks.

George Fernandez, member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India, Ravi Shastri, Indian cricketer are other famous personalities from Mangalore.
