Neha Kakkar Biography

Neha Kakkar (born June 6, 1988) is a playback singer who has led her voice to numerous songs of Bollywood movies. The talented singer first rose to fame when she participated in Indian Idol Season 2. She also released her own album in 2008, named ‘Neha- The rock star’.

Early Life

Neha was born in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, but was brought up in the capital of the country, Delhi. She participated in the Indian Idol at a very young age when she was studying in class XI at New Holy Public School. Neha also released a song about Shah Rukh Khan on Youtube which was such a hit, it went on to be called’ SRK Anthem’.

Career

Neha’s singing career kick-started with the release of her music album ‘Neha- The rock star’, composed by Meet Brothers. She has lent her voice to some of the super hit songs, namely, Hai Rama for the film Meerabai Not Out, Jadu Ki Jhappi from the film Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Woh Ek Pal of Not A Love Story, the title song of Na Aaana Is Des Laado TV serial, Bareilly Ke Bazzar Mei Remix and even party songs like Sunny Sunny for the film Yaariyan, London thumakda from Queen, Party Shoes from Bindaas and Second Hand Jawani in Cocktail. She has also voiced 3 of the 4 songs in Judwaa 2. She has also collaborated with many renowned artists like Daler Mehendi, Gippy Grewal, Honey Singh and more.
Her TV appearances also include Comedy Circus Ke Taansen in 2014, besides Indian Idol. She has also co-judged Zee TV’s singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs. Neha enjoys a huge fan base and is also considered one of the most glamorous singers in the Indian music industry.

Personal Life

Neha was born to Niti Kakkar and Rishikesh Kakkar in Uttarakhand. She has a brother, Tony Kakkar, who as a music composer served as a great inspiration for Neha in her younger years.
