Shahid Kapoor Biography
Shahid Kapoor is an upcoming Bollywood actor and model. Shahid has received several awards for his numerous film roles and was tagged as a promising new-face in the Bollywood film circuit.
Shahid was born on 25th February, 1981, in Mumbai, India. He is the son of actor, Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem, who is a classical dancer and actress. After his parents divorced when he was three, he lived with his mother. Shahid also was dating Bollywood co-star and actress, Kareena Kapoor.
A talented and handsome young actor of average height and build, Shahid Kapoor oozes a natural boyish charm. He is also a skilled dancer receiving training under Shaimak Davar. Shahid’s first appearance in front of the camera was pure chance when he was noticed at a Pepsi audition. He was selected and shot the commercial alongside superstars Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. Since then, he has starred in music videos such as Kumar Sanu’s – Kehna to Hai, and Aryans – Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra, in which he was paired alongside his college flame, actress Hrishita Bhatt. Shahid has also done numerous commercials for products like Kit Kat, Onida, Ala Bleach, Fuji Film and Clinic All Clear.
However, Shahid Kapoor made his Bollywood big screen debut in Ken Ghosh’s hit romantic flick, Ishq Vishk (2003), also starring Amrita Rao and MTV VJ Shenaz Treasurywala. His potential once recognized, Shahid rocked the box-office with hits like the thriller Fida (2004), co-starring Kareena Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, and romantic comedy, Dil Mange More (2004), alongside Soha Ali Khan, Ayesha Takia and Tulip Joshi.
While his next few ventures in Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi, Deewane Huye Pagal, Shikhar, and Chup Chup Ke were average successes, his performances were thoroughly praised. His other blockbusters include the multi-starrer comic thriller 36 China Town (2006) and Vivah (2006). His upcoming films Fool and Final, Milenge Milenge and Dus 2, hope to live up to the expectations of his fans.
