Dr.Deepak Chopra Biography

Deepak Chopra, a very famous name in the field of holistic health and spirituality was born on October 22, 1946 in New Delhi. He did his schooling from New Delhi and then in the year 1968 completed his graduation in medical science from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

(AIIMS) In the year 1970 he moved to the U.S. and interned at a New Jersey hospital. After undergoing further training at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts and at the University of Virginia Hospital, Deepak joined the Tufts University and Boston University School of Medicine as a teacher.

In the year 1985 he met Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who introduced him to ayurveda. Highly inspired by the Maharishi and ayurveda he began practicing transcendental medication and quantum healing.

In the year 1992, Deepak Chopra established The Chopra Center at San Diego and is presently its Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director.
Deepak Chopra has written a lot of books on meditation, spirituality, health, philosophy and various subjects. He himself was highly inspired by the teachings of the Vedas and the Bhagavad-Gita. Some of his famous books are:

In June, 2005, Deepak’s daughter Mallika Chopra started a discussion blog with Shekhar Kapur and other well-known personalities. In 2006, Deepak’s son Gotham Chopra along with his father and Richard Branson started Virgin Comics LLC.

Chopra’s concept of quantum healing has won him a lot of appreciation from all over the world. But some biologists and physicists have criticised his work severely saying that the concept has no strong grounds. They consider it to be just a metaphysical imagination.
