Jeev Milkha Singh Biography
Jeev Milkha Singh became the first Indian golf player to qualify for the European Tour. Born on 15 December 1971, he is the son of the legendary athlete of India, Milkha Singh. His mother Nirmal Kaur is a former captain of the Indian Volleyball team.
Jeev originally hails from Chandigarh, Punjab and still resides there. He is a graduate in golf from Abilene Christian University, United States.
With his immense talents, Jeev Milkha Singh has carved a niche for himself in golf and presently ranks among the first 100 golf players in world.
Jeev Milkha Singh stated playing golf in the amateur circuit and soon became a known face. He started playing golf professionally from 1993 and since then there has been no looking back. A consistent performance in both the national and international level has earned him the Padma Shri Award in 2007.
Jeev Milkha Singh won the prestigious Volvo China Open, Casio World Open and Golf Nippon Series JT Cup in 2006. He has also won a number of other major golf championships of the world. He also represented Indian Golf in Alfred Dunhill Cup and represented Asia in the recently concluded 2007 Royal Trophy. For the last three years, the career of Jeev Milkha Singh has shot a high with his European ranking reaching to 48.
