Adilabad city is situated in southern India in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Adilabad Parliamentary Constituency is situated in the Adilabad District. The name of the city and district comes from Adil Shah, the former ruler of Bijapur. The Adilabad Parliamentary Constituency is also the district’s headquarter.
Adilabad has a population of around 108,233 according to the 2001 census. The population constitutes 51 percent males while females comprise 49 percent. The INC party has won six times while the TDP has captured this seat five times.
