Punjab and Haryana share a common capital named Chandigarh, a city and UT in northern India. However, this city is not a part of any state, it falls under the Union Government because it doesn’t hold a position in any state. Regardless of the fact that this city is housing the LA or legislative assemblies of both these states, along with sharing their capital, this city-state and UT lacks a separate LA despite housing the LAs of these two states and serving as their shared capital.
