Summary of Madhya Pradesh General Election 2014

Phase I polling

In the first round of balloting in Madhya Pradesh on 10 April 2014, a turnout of over 63% was witnessed in nine out of 29 parliamentary constituencies of the state. On the day of polling, the highest polling percentage (71%) was recoded in the LS constituency of Chhindwara, while the constituency of Jabalpur saw the lowest turnout (48%), according to media reports.

Phase II polling

On 17 April 2014, the state of Madhya Pradesh went to cast its vote in the second of three-phased Lok Sabha elections in the state. The male turnout observed at the polling stations was over 61% while the female turnout was recorded as 47.06%.

Phase III polling

The third and final phase of general polls in Madhya Pradesh was conducted on 24 April 2014 at 19,444 polling stations. Total 118 candidates are in the fray. The final phase recorded the highest turnout (66.66%) among the three phases of polling in the state.
