The town of Nandyal is in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh in southern India. The Nandyal Parliamentary Constituency is situated in the Kurnool district. The city is a major hub of agriculture, education, pilgrimage and wildlife. The Nandyal Parliamentary Constituency former Prime Minister, P. V. Narasimha Rao and former President, Neelam Sanjiva Reddy belonged to this constituency. P. V. Narasimha Rao also got the highest majority of votes in India from this center.
The population of Nandyal is around 151,771 (2001 census). The population comprise of 49 percent females and 51 percent males. Nandyal has a number of tourist attractions like Mahanandhi temple and Belum Caves.
