Saharsa city is in the East Indian state of Bihar. The Saharsa Parliamentary Constituency is in the district of Saharsa. The city is to the east of the Kosi River. The Saharsa Parliamentary Constituency is also a municipality in the district.

The city's population is around 124,015 (2001census). The population comprises 46 percent females and 54 percent males.
