Summary of Chhattisgarh General Election 2014
Phase I polling
The first phase of polls in Chhattisgarh was conducted on 10 April 2014 for the single LS seat of Bastar under heavy security arrangements. Well before the polls, the Election Commission had declared about 80% polling booths to be 'ultra sensitive'. The state witnessed a total turnout of 47% in the constituency. Total eight candidates, including two women, were in the fray.
Naxal attack in Bastar on polling day
Ten polling booths suffered attacks from Naxals as they opened fire on the security personnel deployed in Maoist-hit Bastar. Korra, Amirgarh, Samoli, Thanikarka, Nednar, Padeli, and Raigabodi were some of the places where polling was disturbed due to violence.

Phase II polling
Three Naxal-hit Lok Sabha constituencies of the state went to polls on 17 April 2014. The turnout recorded in various constituencies was: 68% in Rajnandgaon, 67% in Balod, 65% in Kanker, 66% in Kondagaon, 58% in Kabirdham and 62% in Gariyaband.

Phase III polling
The third and final round of polling in Chhattisgarh was held on 24 April 2014 for the seven parliamentary constituencies of the state. Nearly 66% turnout was registered. Total turnout: 66% (7 seats)
