Puducherry Weather


The Union Territory of Pondicherry is situated in South India. It is situated at a strategic place, in the south-southwest of Chennai. Along with this Pondicherry has some unique geographical fea-tures for which it enjoys a fair weather all through the year.

Also known as the "French Riviera of East" Pondicherry is constituted of four enclaves in the coastal area of southern India. The four divisions are Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam. This once upon a time French colony is a universally famous tourist site.

Normally the daily weather in Pondicherry is moderate enough for the people to live comforta-bly.

On the Malabar Coast the pleasant land of Pondicherry stands pretty. Located beside the Bay of Bengal Pondicherry has a temperate climate. It is because of this equable climate that even in the mid June the maximum temperature registered at Pondicherry is 35.7°C. Again in the winters the lowest temperature is recorded to be 20.9°C. The average minimum temperature at Pondicherry is 23.9° C. During summer the average temperature goes up to 31.5° C.

It is generally warm in Pondicherry and the best time to visit the place is from October to March. The weather in the "French Riviera of East" remains most composed and pleasing. It is very com-fortable being in Pondicherry during this time.
