India's northern state is called Rajasthan. Its overall area is 342,239 square kilometres, or 10.4% of India's landmass. In terms of area, it is the largest Indian state, and in terms of people, it ranks eighth. It is located on the northwest coast of India, encompassing the majority of the vast and hostile Thar Desert, popularly referred to as the Great Indian Desert. It borders the Pakistani provinces of Sindh to the west and Punjab to the northwest along the Sutlej-Indus River basin.
Rajasthan General Elections 2024
The first and second phases of the 2024 Indian general election in Rajasthan are scheduled for April 19 and 26, respectively. The purpose of these elections is to choose 25 candidates for the 18th Lok Sabha bye-election for the Bagidora Assembly seat. On June 4, 2024, the election results will be announced.

Election History
Two phases of the 2019 Indian general election—April 29 and May 6—were conducted in Rajasthan in order to elect the 17th Lok Sabha. The Indian National Congress (INC) gained a substantial lead over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan's 2019 Lok Sabha elections. With twenty-five of the state's twenty-five legislative seats, the Congress party won a landslide victory. Comparing this result to the 2014 elections, when the BJP had won all 25 seats, showed how things had changed dramatically. A number of things contributed to the Congress' victory: strong grassroots organising, anti-incumbency emotions, and successful coalition-building tactics. Conversely, the BJP encountered difficulties like dissatisfaction from specific segments of the voters and internal party dynamics. As a result, the BJP lost all of its seats in Rajasthan in the 2019 elections, bringing about a dramatic change in the state's political climate.
Political Parties Competing in the 2024 Elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is associated with right-wing politics and shares strong ideological and organisational ties with the volunteer paramilitary Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).Hindu nationalism, or Hindutva, is the philosophy that guides its policies. It is the largest political party in the nation as of January 2024, with the most representatives in both the state legislatures and the Indian Parliament. Under the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has ruled India's political landscape since 2014.
Indian National Congress (INC) : The Indian National Congress (INC), also known as the Congress Party or just the Congress, is a well-established political organisation throughout the majority of India's provinces. It was the first modern nationalist movement to arise in Asia and Africa under the British Empire, having been founded in 1885. From the late 19th century, and particularly after 1920, the Congress emerged as the main force behind the Indian independence movement, led by Mahatma Gandhi.
The Communist Party of India (CPI) : In India, the oldest communist party is the Communist Party of India (CPI). On December 26, 1925, the CPI was established in what is now Kanpur.At the now, it has two representatives in the Rajya Sabha and two in the Lok Sabha. Along with one MLC in Bihar, it also has 22 MLAs spread across four states. In Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Manipur, it currently holds the ECI status of a state party.
Bahujan Samaj Party : Originally representing Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBC) as well as religious minorities, the Bahujan Samaj Party is a political party in India. Kanshi Ram claims that the Bahujans made up 85 percent of India's population when he started the party in 1984, but they were split up into 6,000 distinct castes.
Rashtriya Loktantrik Party : In the Indian state of Rajasthan, there exists a political party called the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, or RLP for short. On the eve of the 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, Hanuman Beniwal launched the party. The president of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party is Hanuman Beniwal.
Bharat Adivasi Party : Located in Rajasthan, India, the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) is a political party. On September 10, 2023, Rajkumar Roat, a former MLA for the Bharatiya Tribal Party, founded the party.
