Summary of Rajasthan General Election 2014
The general election 2014 took place in
Rajasthan in the 25 parliamentary constituencies in two phases, first on 17 April during Phase 5, and then on 24 April during Phase 6. For conducting a free and fair election, nearly 1,92,000 election officials were deployed at the polling stations in the state. Total 63.02% of the large electorate of 4,28,95,679 electors went to polls to cast their vote.

Phase I polling
The first round of the two-phased balloting in Rajasthan was held on 17 April to elect MPs for its 20 Lok Sabha seats. Over 63% voter turnout was witnessed on the polling day which sealed the fate of 239 candidates, including 17 women candidates.

Phase II polling
Rajasthan went to polls in the second and final phase of general election in the state on 24 April 2014 in the five parliamentary constituencies. In this phase, a strong electorate of over 80 lakh voters was expected to elect 5 MPs out of 81 candidates; however, only around 59% voter turnout was registered.
