Pandariya



Chhattisgarh, a land famed for its mineral deposits and bustling industrial enterprises is also noted for its tourism. The nascent state that gained autonomy only in the new millennium abounds in cities. Pandariya is one such city dotting the landscape of the state.

Pandariya is a quaint and sleepy little town in Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh. The town also serves as a nagar panchayat of the district. The district's panoramic chiaroscuro is certainly worth an artist's pencil and is a photographer's dream. The district houses the lush and verdant sanctuaries of Kanha and Sahaspur, an irresistible temptation for tourists. According to the reports prepared by the 2001 Census committee, Pandariya's population has reached a figure of 12,453 with 51 males per 49 females on a net scale of 100. Nearly 16% of Pandariya's population are children who are below the age of six. The district also has a moderate literacy rate nearing 59%.

The populace of Pandariya are mainly tribals who are an industrious lot who love to celebrate life and live harmoniously amongst each other. The town, nestled on the lap of nature captivates tourists with its enchanting beauty. The tribal villages, which have an inexplicable charm of their own are also must see destinations that provide an insight into the diverse tribal cultural legacy of Central India.
