Ambedkar Nagar district covers an area of 2520 sq. km. of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The district has the total population of 16,29,353. The district headquarters is at Akbarpur. The district is administratively divided into nine blocks, Akbarpur, Katehary, Bhiti, Tanda, Baskhari, Ram Nagar, Jahangir Ganj, Jalalpur, and Bhiyanwa.
Nearly 91% of the population of Ambedkar Nagar district are engaged in farming. The district is an important industrial centre. There is a powerloom industry in the tehsil of Tanda which produces Tanda Terikat.
Govind Saheb, Kichhauchha Sharif, Sihmai Karirat, Sangam place of Tons, Madha and Visui rivers is Shravan Kshetra, Lakes Devhat and Hanswar lakes are few tourist places of Ambedkar Nagar district.
